Singapore Mandai Subway Station Successfully Opened To the Traffic for the First Time

On the morning of July 4, 2018, Singapore Mandai Subway Station built by Hangxiao Steel Structure (Hebei) Construction Co., Ltd. successfully opened to the traffic for the first time.

Mr. Khaw Boon Wan, the Minister of Ministry of Transport of Singapore and the leaders of LTA (Land Transports Authority) were present at Mandai Depot project site and visited the test run ceremony of Thomson-East Coast Line in the first phase. Minister Khaw Boon Wan entered the cab of the train in person and pressed the train whistle. With the sound of a clear whistle, the train pulled out of the platform and stopped at the scheduled platform after a period of smooth driving, indicating the success of the test run. This is a milestone node in Thomson-East Coast Line.

During the test-up ceremony, Mr. Khaw boon wan, the Transport Minister, said: "Over the next few months, 90 more trains will be delivered to Mandai Depot and put into use next year. The residents of Singapore are eagerly awaiting the opening of the new line". Mr. Khaw Boon Wan also paid tribute to all the construction staff who worked for Mandai project with wisdom and sweat. With the joint efforts of all, the project was carried out smoothly and delivered on schedule.

Singapore Mandai Depot project is a large-scale transportation and transit hub project with subway and bus as one with 23 steel structures and over 22,000 anchor bolts. The total building area is more than 750,000 square meters. Most of the structures are pipe-truss structures. It is one of the largest subway stations in Singapore and plays the role of radiating main subway lines in Woodlands and driving the regional economic development.
